The Triangle, the Square and the Circle, performance/projection/breathing 12 min

The Triangle, the Square and the Circle
(12 min) is a continuation of Van der Heide her exploration of abstract forms and its possible spiritual meaning, like in her previous works Art Histroy(2011) and Colour Theory Exercises (2011-2012). In this part she lays her self on the ground, and does nothing but breathing. After a short while a projection starts, visible slightly above her. And succesively ten painted circles, ten triangles and ten squares appear above her. Like in the first part, the plants continuously change their shape and colour, here the triangle, the square and the circle continuously change shape and colour as well. The originally two dimensional drawings, eventually become alsmost tangible shapes in the space. While transitioning from one point to another it becomes ambigue if the projection is projected on the cinema screen or on the so called ‘mental screen’ of the audience and the performer.
Mother Earth Breathing is commissioned by If I Can't Dance, I Don't Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution and presented during the Performance Days, which will take place from 27 November - 3 December 2014
